Ben Hewitt leads many of MarketShare’s cross media analytic projects and tool deployments. An experienced project leader, Ben has a breadth of practical knowledge in large, global technical assignments spanning key verticals for MarketShare including the Retail, Consumer Electronic, FMCG, Automotive and Charity sectors. Ben began his career in the Formula 1 industry, working for Mercedes–Ilmor supplying race engines to McLaren. There Ben was on the development team as a technical project engineer, working closely with the senior design team, managing and organizing technical changes between the two functions. Ben was also responsible for analyzing and reporting on the development of testing phases throughout the season.
After his time at Mercedes-Ilmor, Ben enjoyed an engagement for Coca Cola Amatil in Sydney, Australia, working directly for the CFO on two key internal projects. There Ben led and shaped internal initiatives for the marketing and customer service teams, leaving the company with sustainable go-forward business practices and processes.
Upon his return to UK, Ben was assigned back to the Mercedes Benz Group, this time for the Automotive HQ in the UK. Working directly for the Senior Operational Excellence Manager and CEO & President, Ben led and drove the Board’s vision and concept of ‘Wider Group Profit’ into a tangible analytical decision toolkit. The results were an implemented platform for reporting and highlighting financial synergies and impacts on business decision making, supporting the MB Board and marketing function with regards to >£30m of special discounts.
Ben earned his MS in Engineering from the University of Loughborough in 2006 and has subsequently completed his PRINCE 2 practitioner qualification in Project Management.
